The historical existence of the German Democratic Republic ended on 2 October 1990, at the same time terminating the Cold War in Central Europe. However, there are still Soviet occupation troops on German soil. In December 1990, uncensored footage of the 33rd Fighter Squadron in Wittstock is shot for the very first time, within the scope of Glasnost.
